A game of Memory!

Objective: Be the first to guess that tune!

Items Needed: Music player and music. Make it more personal by picking the graduates favorite songs going throughout the time they were in school. 

Game Play: Play a few bars from each song. The first person to guess the song correctly gets a point. The person with the most points at the end of the game wins. 

How well do you know your music? Find out with Name that Tune!

Want to play in teams? Divide guests into equal teams. Decide on a team to go first. The host will play a few bars of music and the team will be given 30 seconds to state the name. If they do not come up with an answer or are incorrect the other two teams then get a chance to guess. The first one that gets the answer correct will receive the point and get to take another turn. The game continues this way, the team with the most points at the end of the game wins! 

** TIE BREAKER: If there is a tie between the two teams guessing the name of the song a tie breaker could be naming the artist who sings the song!

Objective: Create a Graduation Party keepsake for the graduate by having the guests write their story!

Items Needed for Create Your Own Story: A notebook, pen or pencil, and imagination!

Game Play: Before guests arrive write a few lines to get the story started. 

  • For example if you wanted a fairytale: 

Once upon a time in a far away land there was a girl/boy by the name of Insert Graduates Name here who loved favorite item.  She was so excited because today her friends were coming over to help celebrate her graduation! She was super excited for.... 

  • Or an adventure: 

Today begins the biggest adventure that Insert Graduates Name here. She/He will be going to insert country to discover what life holds for her/him! She will have to get there by mode of transportation and.... 

Let each guest take turns adding a few lines to the story! If needed give them prompts by asking them questions or giving them ideas. When the last guest has finished then take a few moments and read the story back to everyone! They will be super excited to see their adventure/story come to life!

Items Needed for: Music, space to dance, friends!

Game Play: A great way to break the ice and get people moving on the dance floor! Have the first pair of dancers go out on the dance floor and begin dancing. When the music stops (controlled by the host) the dancing pair(s) must split apart and go find a new dance partner that is not already dancing. Play continues until everyone is out on the floor!

The Game of All Things

Objective: How many things do you know? Or think your friends know. 

Items Needed: Friends, a list of statements with the word "things" in them (5-10 depending on how long you would like game play to continue), a bowl, scraps of paper, and pen. 

Game Play: First round-The host will make a general statement of things. For example "Things you should not do at a restaurant." Each guest will write down an answer of what they think the "thing" is. An example answer for the statement above would be "You should not curl your hair in a restaurant." The guest will then fold their paper and drop it in the bowl as it is passed around the room.

Once all of the statements have been read the second round begins.

With the first player pulling a piece of paper from the bowl and reading it aloud (NO reading your own! If you pull your own it must be placed back into the bowl and another one chosen!) They must then guess who they think made this statement. If they get it correct then they receive a point and get to go again. If they get it wrong the statement is put back into the bowl and the bowl is passed to the next player. The next player then gets a chance to pull a statement and read it aloud. Game play continues until all players have had a chance to read a statement. The game may end here with the person with the most points winning or game play may continue until all statements have been read and guessed!

Objective: Guess who you are! 

Items Needed: Post it notes and pens. 

Game Play: As game play begins have guests stand in a circle and each take a post it note that they will then write down a favorite actor, author, or character without showing anyone what they have written. Once everyone has finished writing someone down they will take turns turning to the person on their right and placing the post it note on their forehead. The first player will get to ask 21 questions about their post it. After the 21 questions have been answered they must then guess who they are.
